Hi! My name is Andrej, and welcome to my blog, Iran Zamin Cinema.

I’m a passionate writer and researcher based in Prague, Czech Republic, with a deep love for Iranian cinema, literature, and the Persian language.

I hold a Master’s degree in Film Studies, and over the years, I’ve published numerous articles in film journals, as well as chapters in edited volumes. My work focuses on the unique aesthetic and cultural layers of Iranian cinema, including its poetry, symbolism, and the powerful social stories it tells.

“Iran Zamin” literally means “Land of Iran” — a term that refers to Iran in a broader sense, not just within its political boundaries, but encompassing the entire Persianate world. Iran Zamin Cinema explores Iranian film from this perspective — including works made in Iran, diaspora cinema, and global films shaped by Persian culture. Through thoughtful reviews and deep-focus analyses, I hope to share my fascination with this rich cinematic tradition and introduce it to a wider audience.

Working on this blog requires a lot of effort and dedication. Each article means hours of reading, translating, and making sense of cultural and historical contexts. It’s not always easy, but it’s something I care about deeply.

If you enjoy my content and want to keep this independent project going, you can buy me a coffee to help me keep writing, researching, and building this space. Thank you so much for your support — it truly means a lot to me.
